With his third victory in the 2001 Tour de France, Lance Armstrong becomes the first American ever to win three consecutive tours, an the fifth cyclist ever to accomplish three consecutive Tour wins!

The first nine stages see Armstrong, Ullrich an the rest of the favorites watch in restrained horror as Stuart O´Grady and Francois Simon build a twenty-minute lead with a few opportunistic breakaways. Armstrong and the others know they can make the time up, but it will be difficult....
